ACQUIRED CHRONIC MITRAL INSUFFICIENCY IN THE DOG: CORRELATION OF FUNCTIONAL CLINICAL STAGE AND ECHOCARDIOGRAPHICS PARAMETERS
Abstract
This paper describes the usefulness of echocardiography to evaluate the severity of the disease in 38 dogs diagnosed of chronic mitral valve disease. Two-dimensional and M-mode echocardiography allow to visualizate the thickeness of mitral valve leaflets. The left wall systolic thickness, the left atrium/aorta ratio and shortening fraction showed a statistical positive correlation with the functional clinical stage.Downloads
