Examinando la interacción entre los estilos de liderazgo del entrenador, la motivación y la ansiedad: perspectivas de estudiantes-atletas universitarios filipinos
Resumen
La pasión de Filipinas por los deportes está profundamente arraigada en su cultura y se evidencia en su participación en importantes eventos deportivos nacionales e internacionales. Por lo tanto, es fundamental determinar un estilo de liderazgo de entrenador que favorezca una relación sólida entre entrenador y atleta, así como el desarrollo y los logros de atletas motivados. Este estudio examinó, en términos generales, las asociaciones entre los estilos de liderazgo de los entrenadores, la motivación y la ansiedad entre estudiantes-atletas universitarios filipinos en una universidad pública del estado en la provincia de Leyte, Filipinas. Se utilizó un enfoque cuantitativo, específicamente un estudio descriptivo transversal y un diseño correlacional con 108 estudiantes-atletas como participantes. Los resultados revelaron una asociación positiva débil pero estadísticamente significativa (rs=0,304, p=0,001) entre el liderazgo de los entrenadores y la motivación de los estudiantes-atletas, lo que sugiere que los atletas que perciben a sus entrenadores como líderes efectivos muestran niveles más altos de motivación. Sin embargo, no se encontró una asociación significativa entre el liderazgo de los entrenadores y la ansiedad de los estudiantes-atletas (rs=-0,026, p=0,793), ni entre la ansiedad y la motivación de los estudiantes-atletas (rs=-0,157, p=0,106). Estos resultados enfatizan la complejidad de los factores que influyen en la ansiedad, incluyendo la presión por el rendimiento, la intensidad de la competencia o las expectativas personales. Si bien no existe un enfoque de liderazgo único que se aplique de manera universal, una comprensión profunda de los diversos estilos de entrenamiento es crucial para cultivar una relación óptima entre entrenador y atleta que potencie la motivación y el rendimiento.
