Los efectos de la tecnología en la salud y la actividad física: Un estudio cualitativo
Resumen
El objetivo de este estudio fue explorar cómo los dispositivos tecnológicos influyen en la actividad física y la salud general de los individuos, identificando tanto los efectos positivos como negativos del uso de la tecnología en el bienestar. Se utilizó un diseño cualitativo mediante entrevistas semiestructuradas con una muestra por conveniencia de 100 participantes de entre 18 y 52 años (M ± DE = 26,3 ± 8,5). La muestra estuvo compuesta por un 51% de mujeres y un 49% de hombres. Las entrevistas exploraron las experiencias y percepciones de los participantes sobre cómo los dispositivos tecnológicos afectan la actividad física y el bienestar general. Los datos fueron transcritos, codificados y analizados temáticamente para identificar efectos tanto positivos como negativos. Los resultados indicaron que el uso excesivo de teléfonos inteligentes, computadoras y dispositivos de juego contribuyó a estilos de vida sedentarios, malestar musculoesquelético, fatiga psicológica y reducción de la interacción social. Sin embargo, los participantes también reportaron que la tecnología puede favorecer la actividad física a través de aplicaciones de ejercicio, dispositivos portátiles y plataformas de entrenamiento en línea. Las estrategias sugeridas para mitigar los efectos adversos incluyeron regular el tiempo frente a la pantalla, corregir la postura, practicar un uso consciente de la tecnología e incorporar pausas para el movimiento físico. La tecnología ejerce una influencia dual sobre la salud y la actividad física, actuando tanto como barrera como facilitadora. Mantener un equilibrio entre el uso y el exceso es esencial para garantizar resultados positivos. Las iniciativas de salud pública y los programas educativos deben enfatizar el uso responsable de la tecnología y fomentar estrategias que promuevan estilos de vida activos.
