Profile of the sports manager in municipalities with more than 100,000 inhabitants
Abstract
Introduction: The increase in the demand in physical and sports activities in today's society needs a person to manage that generated demand. Sports management begins to have a very relevant importance in sports, managing the resources of both facilities and personnel, going through the economic and everything related to the work that any manager can do. Methods: A descriptive research is carried out, a non-experimental research modality that tries to systematically describe facts and characteristics of a given population. The sample is made up of sports managers from cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants throughout Spain. A 59-item questionnaire is applied, in which an attempt is made to answer the work carried out by sports managers and what skills they have. Results: Several of the most relevant questionnaire items are exposed. Discussion: The data of all the items are analyzed and the most significant variables are compared with other studies. Conclusion: Finally, the conclusions of the work are obtained with the update of the data on sports managers and what is their current status, since there is not much literature on this subject.
