Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze the motivational climate of athletes of different sports according to gender, in a sample composed of a total of 372 subjects between the ages of 18 and 50, evaluated through the Motivational Climate Questionnaire (PMCQS - 2) and a self-registration sheet that measured the variables sex and practical sports modality. The results indicate that the individuals analyzed are mostly oriented towards the task, finding a greater orientation to the ego in men than in women. The analyzed subjects who practice the modality of individual sports with contact are the ones that obtain the highest results in the ego climate. The study reveals the importance of working self-determined motivation in athletes, as a means to focus on effort and personal improvement.
