Comparison between technical and tactical preferences rugby players schoolchildren, university and adults in Murcia

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine and clarify the satisfaction and preferences of rugby players in the Region of Murcia, and if these preferences developed with age and sport experience. The study sample was consist of 210 rugby players from theMurcia’s Rugby Federation. The most important results of this study showed that technical and tactical action valued by the schoolchildren (9.07) and university (8.76) was "trying", while for adults was "tackling" (8.78) and "recovering balls" ( 8.66). The phases of the game most valued by theschoolchildren (8.98), university (8.61) and adults (8.43) were the attack phase. It was found a greater appreciation and preference for numerical game situations like 6vs6 and 7vs7 in all groups. This investigation, applied to a specific context, allows the development of specific teaching and training actions in order to attend to the requirements of the different contextual realities.
