About the Journal

The "Latin American Journal of Socio-Educational Research" (RELIS), ISSN 3101-3899, is an international publication that disseminates original research articles from a multidisciplinary perspective, accepting works from the various approaches that comprise socio-educational research.

This journal arises under the auspices of different agreements between the University of Murcia and a group of universities in South America, pursuant to the provisions of clause 2.2 of their general protocols of action (PGA), which promotes "the undertaking of joint editions (...) that respond to the common interest of both institutions." Consequently, the editorial and scientific committee is composed of academic representatives from the participating universities.

Frequency and language policies

The journal will publish two issues per year (January and June) and, given its international projection, will accept manuscripts in Spanish and English.

Structure and sections

The journal will feature two sections:

  1. Monographic section: Each issue is dedicated to a specific theme, announced in advance through a call for papers on the journal's website. Submissions must adhere to the deadlines established in said call.

  2. Miscellaneous section: This section accepts articles on diverse topics within the socio-educational field and remains open on an ongoing basis.

Type of manuscripts

Priority will be given to the publication of articles presenting empirical research results.

Review process

All submitted manuscripts will undergo an editorial pre-evaluation. Those that pass this initial phase will be subject to a double-blind external peer review process.

Commitment to gender equality

In accordance with its commitment to good practices in gender equality, RELIS recommends the use of inclusive language in the drafting of articles.

Open access policy

RELIS provides immediate open access to all its content, based on the principle that making scientific knowledge freely available fosters greater global knowledge exchange.
