Estudio empírico del Tercer Sector en España: hacia una re-conceptualización unificada
An empirical investigation of the Third Sector in Spain: towards a unified reconceptualization
Resumen
La definición de Tercer Sector forma parte de un tipo de literatura social identificada por su ambigüedad y su disparidad terminológica. Las características que se utilizan para explicar cuál es el sector donde se ubican las entidades privadas sin fines lucrativos pueden ser comúnmente aceptadas, pero es probable que sean insuficientes para identificarlo de manera clara y exacta. Por ello, varios han sido los enfoques y las teorías justificativas del Sector No Lucrativo. En base a las premisas definidas por Salamon y Anheier y una revisión bibliográfica sistemática y profunda, este trabajo presenta una síntesis que reúne y combina los elementos esenciales que deben componer el concepto de Tercer Sector aportando dos nuevas características que deben ser añadidas a este tipo de organizaciones para asegurar su viabilidad y sostenibilidad, pudiendo así cumplir con eficiencia, eficacia y economicidad, su misión, visión y valores.
