La liberación alternativa: reflexiones en torno a las fugas de cautivos y prisioneros durante la Edad Media hispánica

Abstract

Once captured, war prisioners underwent a terrible ordeal that included abuses and dreadful living conditions, hoping for a liberation that normally never ocurred. Therefore many of them decided to risk their lives facing the terrible perils of an escape, rather than awaiting the payment of a ransom that they didn’t want or couldn’t afford to pay.
