Abstract

This article offer a review of the critical production about the Cantar de Mio Cid carried out in 2007, for the eighth centenary of the copy of the poem by Per Abbat. It reviews and comments on editions
of the Mio Cid, monographic editions of specialized journals, congresses and scientific meetings. The main topics of these studies have been: the editing of the text, the reception and contemporary reinvention of the heroic story of El Cid, the comparison with other European epic traditions (ancient and
medieval) and various historical-literary aspects, such as the configuration of the epic hero.
