Epílogo de un reinado y desmembramiento de una Corte: servidores de Juan II de Aragón a su muerte
Abstract
Studying the royal entourage of John II of Aragon could help us to better understand the way medieval
elites were organized in the Iberian Peninsula. In the same way, this case study seems very useful to
Historiography for analyzing and understand dynastic transmisión of power. To this end, in this article
we study the royal court of the Aragonese king from a prosopographical perspective. The Aragonese
Crown’s political needs and the activity of castilian prince Ferdinand are two key factors in order to
frame a study focused not only on the unknown environment of the court but also on the relationships
within a divided Aragonese royal court.
