The image of the queen consort as a symbol of power in the Kingdom of Castile during the 15th century. Its construction and meaning
Abstract
The construction of the identity of the queen consort is a complex process that reveals the key to her subsequent performance and relevance in the configuration of monarchical power. In order to understand her importance in the political life of the Crown of Castile, the formation of her image is analyzed from three perspectives: how this image is shaped through the education she receives, how that position is shown by the elements of material culture that allow us to identify it, and finally, how all that has been said is represented and staged in the different events taking place in the court environment.Downloads
