Abstract

In Bilbao, on late medieval and early modern times, the female labour world and the universe of the vine and wine moves through paths that are intertwined in a kind of paradox that oscillates between reality and symbol, the law and trap, ingenuity and cunning, philosophy and ideology.

In the following pages we will explain this relationship as expressed at the different times into which the wine activity is divided, using various types of manuscript and printed sources and bibliographies of specialized nature.
