Fernando IV de Castilla y la guerra contra los moros: la conquista de Gibraltar (1309)
Abstract
The limited space occupied by the reconquering policies of Ferdinand IV Castile, a particularly out standing place is occupied by the conquest of Gibraltar (1309), the indisputable location for the control of the Strait of Gibraltar. The military operations were preceded by the complex negotiations of James II of Aragon and signified for both Crowns a very notable economic effort, though the unfortunate behavior of an important sector of the Castilian nobility prevented the full achievement of the original aims raised.Downloads
