LA MÚSICA CINEMATOGRÁFICA DE ASTOR PIAZZOLLA
Abstract
The current work tries to study the relation between Astor Piazzolla (1 92 1 - 1992) and the cinema, from different points of view. On the one hand, we present Piazzolla's compositions for the cinema, which includes 44 soundtracks made between 1949 and 1987, both in Europe and South America. In the same sense, we can see this production within the development of the different styles and ideology of the Argentinian and European directors with whom the composer worked, with special attention of Fernando Solanas, for whom he composed his two last soundtracks. Finally, we investigate the use of Piazzolla's music in productions where he did not take part.Downloads
