Abstract

Convinced of the profound relevance of the idea as main vehicle and founder of art, we tackle the study of Michelangelo’s art work from a multidisciplinary perspective, referring the transcendental and dogmatic inheritance of Juan de Valdés and its impact in Italy in 1530`s decade. Teology becomes an extraordinary engine of transmission in order to consolidate the validity of the form and the style of its period, and illuminates the esthetic paradigm of the inspiration’s concept. We will analyze, through an intricate complex of phenomenos such us the transmission of ideas and the figurative concretion, specialy the possible links between Juan Valdés, Vittoria Colonna and Buonarroti, according to a Spanish table attributed to the master and kept in La Rioja.
