Abstract

Geographical Sciences have, perhaps, not been epistemologically discussed in depth;hence the existende of numerous unresolved matters and, which is perhaps more serious, important contradictions and conceptual disagreements. That is why 1 considerer of great interest to reflect upon various basic aspects of our discipline. An approach to Regional Geographic Analysis fron the general concepts that characterize Geography is the main concem of this article. The work begins with the problem of the unity of Geography, followed by a reflection upon the conceptual plurality present in Regional Geography. The need of having a plural conception of the Region as the territorial framework «f analysis is put forward. This would be the only way to focus the numerous matters involved in the regional units.
