Functional status and self-care of patients with heart failure: a scoping review

Abstract

Objetivo: Mapear as evidências científicas sobre a relação entre capacidade funcional e autocuidado em pacientes com insuficiência cardíaca.

Métodos: Revisão de escopo conduzida de acordo com o Instituto Joanna Briggs e orientada para o PRISMA-ScR. Sete bases de dados eletrônicas e cinquenta e cinco publicações em fóruns foram consultadas. Inclui estudos primários com adultos (com 18 anos ou mais) diagnosticados com insuficiência cardíaca, publicados em qualquer idioma, com seleção independente e duplo-cega.

Resultados: Os estudos sobre o forame de dezoito foram incluídos. O autocuidado foi avaliado predominantemente pelo Índice de Autocuidado para Insuficiência Cardíaca. A capacidade funcional foi avaliada principalmente pela classificação funcional da New York Heart Association. A relação entre as duas é complexa e variada, com correlações positivas, negativas ou ausentes.

Conclusão: Relação entre capacidade funcional e autocuidado em pacientes com insuficiência cardíaca heterogênea. Compreender a relação entre autocuidado e capacidade funcional pode orientar profissionais de saúde na avaliação e no desenvolvimento de intervenções personalizadas (educação, apoio ao exercício, motivação) para pacientes com insuficiência cardíaca.
