HAWTHORNE Y KAFKA EN EL LIBRO NEGRO: EL REGRESO DE W.B.
Abstract
El Colegio Libre de Estudios Superiores de Buenos Aires acogía en marzo de 1949 al escritor argentino Jorge Luis Borges (1899-1986). Inau¬guraba su curso sobre literatura clásica nortea¬mericana manifestando su intención de comen¬zar “la historia de las letras americanas con la his¬toria de una metáfora; mejor dicho, con algunos ejemplos de esa metáfora” (Borges, 1966: 71), y ésta no era otra que la asimilación de “los sueños a una función de teatro”. Borges signaba enton¬ces unos versos de Góngora como epígrafe a la histo¬ria de las letras americanas, e iniciaba su andadura con una conferencia centrada en la vida y obra del escritor Nathaniel Hawthorne (1804-1864), “el soñador”.Downloads
