Abstract
This review examines Olga Amarís Duarte’s book A Poetics of Exile: Hannah Arendt and María Zambrano, highlighting its contribution to a hermeneutic approach that interweaves philosophy, poetry, and politics through the lens of exile. The text emphasizes how the author stages a fruitful dialogue between Arendt and Zambrano, presenting exile not as mere loss but as a productive matrix and an aesthetic-philosophical horizon. Special attention is given to the book’s role in foregrounding women’s thought within philosophies of exile, as well as to its hybrid style that combines academic rigor with literary resonance.
