Poetics of absence in Idea Vilariño's lyrical work
Abstract
The aim of this pages is to outline the poetic work of one of the most eminent female voices of Uruguayan literature in the last century: Idea Vilariño. We will delve into some issues related with her literary work and establish a hypothesis that allows us to go through her poetic work. We will delve into her poetics by developing a concept that we have decided to call "poetics of absence", defined as the expression of absence in different degrees. This particular form of poeticising is made effective through different mechanisms, thanks to which we will also be able to determine a series of zones or stages within her poetry in the light of our hypothesis.
