Jorge Luis Borges in William Ospina. Influences on the genesis of 'El año del verano que nunca llegó'
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to trace the presence of Jorge Luis Borges in the genesis of El año del verano que nunca llegó, work of the Colombian writer William Ospina. The influence of the Argentine writer is evident through quotes, references and allusions to his life. However, before the idea began to materialize, there was a moment, when inspiration invaded Ospina, in wich Borges was already present. To warn this, it is necessary to trace the events narrated in El año del verano que nunca llegó and also in the conference that Willliam Ospina gave in the Congreso Iberoamericano de Educación. Metas 2021, under the name «Preguntas para una nueva educación». Within this multiple perspective, we come to a conclusion: the presence of Borges in the genesis of Ospina´s work is continuos, constant, and very importan.
