EL CABALLERO DEL VERDE GABÁN Y OTROS ENIGMAS: EL DESDOBLAMIENTO IMAGINAL DE LA REALIDAD EN EL QUIJOTE

Resumen

Resumen: Este artículo explora posibles relaciones alusivas entre algunos motivos y personajes literarios de El Quijote de Cervantes, más concretamente dos caballeros que aparecen en los capítulos XIV a XVII de la obra, y la enigmática figura de Jidr/Jadir, ‘el Verde’, representante por excelencia del directo conocimiento inspirado en el ámbito del sufismo islámico. Se propone en estas páginas que leer El Quijote a la luz del pensamiento relativo a la Imaginación creadora en Ibn ʿArabī de Murcia, recurriendo a perspectivas hermenéuticas afines a las del maestro sufí, puede resultar fructífero para profundizar en otras dimensiones del texto y propiciar una lectura que permita contemplar a Don Quijote como héroe imaginal.

Abstract: This article explores possible allusive relationships between certain motifs and characters in Cervantes’ Don Quixote, specifically two knights who appear in chapters XIV to XVII of the work, and the enigmatic figure of Khidr/Khadir, “the Green”, the quintessential representative of direct inspired knowledge in Islamic Sufism. These pages propose that reading Don Quixote in the light of Ibn ʿArabī of Murcia’s thinking on creative Imagination, resorting to hermeneutical perspectives similar to those of the Sufi master, can be fruitful in deepening other dimensions of the text and fostering a reading that allows to see Don Quixote as an imaginal hero.
