THREE OTHER WORKS BY THE AUTHOR OF LAṬĀʼIF AL-IʿLĀM, WRONGLY ATTRIBUTED TO QĀŠĀNĪ.

Resumen: Este artículo examina tres obras recientemente descubiertas del autor de Laṭā’if al-iʿlām, un tratado bien conocido sobre la terminología técnica del sufismo, que ha sido erróneamente atribuido a Ṣadr al-Dīn Qūnawī, Saʿīd al-Dīn Fargānī y, especialmente, a ʿAbd al-Razzāq Qāšānī. Se analiza lo que sabemos de su verdadero autor, posiblemente llamado Ibn Ṭāhir (un pensador sufí sunní de la escuela de Muḥyī l-Dīn Ibn ʿArabī), su entorno y su vida (siglos XIII-XIV), estudiando el Laṭā’if y estas tres obras previamente desconocidas: al-Dalā’il al-qaṭʿiyya, al-Durra al-farīda y Tadkirat al-fawā’id. Se tienen en cuenta una nueva edición del Laṭā’if (2000) y la edición de varias obras breves de Qāšānī (2000), ambas producidas por M. Hādīzādeh, así como una reseña de mi artículo anterior sobre el tema por G. Elmore (2000), una segunda reseña de N. Pourjavadi en su libro Išrāq wa-ʿirfān (2002), así como algunas consideraciones de Pierre Lory en la Encyclopaedia of Islam (Online – E3 English) que también se han tenido en cuenta.

Abstract: This article examines three recently discovered works by the author of Laṭā’if al-iʿlām, a well-known treatise on the technical terminology of Sufism, which has been erroneously attributed to Ṣadr al-Dīn Qūnawī, Saʿīd al-Dīn Fargānī and, especially, to ʿAbd al-Razzāq Qāšānī. It analyses what we know of its real author, possibly called Ibn Ṭāhir (a Sufi Sunni thinker of the school of Muḥyī l-Dīn Ibn ʿArabī), his milieu and his life (13th- 14th century), by studying the Laṭā’if and these three previously unknown works: al-Dalā’il al-qaṭʿiyya, al-Durra al-farīda and Tadkirat al-fawā’id.1 A new edition of the Laṭā’if (2000) and the edition of several of Qāšānī’s short works (2000), both produced by M. Hādīzādeh, as well as a review of my earlier article on the matter by G. Elmore (2000), a second review by N. Pourjavadi in his book Išrāq wa-ʿirfān (2002), and some considerations by Pierre Lory in the Encyclopaedia of Islam (Online – E3 English), are also taken into consideration.
