MAŠĪ’A: O MISTÉRIO DO DESEJO DIVINO

Resumen: In šā’ Allāh y mā šā’ Allāh —“si Dios quiere”, “como Dios quiera”— son expresiones comunes de la cultura islámica, una mezcla de esperanza e incertidumbre, asociadas al misterio del deseo divino. Ibn ‘Arabī utiliza esta raíz etimológica (š–y–’) en el entrelazamiento de varios conceptos que implican el “deseo” como fundamento de la existencia, y expande nuestra comprensión de nociones como el tiempo, el amor, la vida y la seididad. Es este proceso el que exploramos en este artículo.
Abstract: In šā’ Allāh and mā šā’ Allāh - ‘if God wills’, ‘as God wills’, are common expressions in Islamic culture, a mixture of hope and uncertainty, associated with the mystery of divine desire. Ibn “Arabī uses this etymological root (š-y-’) in the interweaving of various concepts that imply ‘desire’ as the foundation of existence, and expands our understanding of notions such as time, love, life and seity. It is this process that we explore in this article.
