Abstract

The intervention performed in Val de la Viña’s site permitted the identification of an archaeological complex with particular characteristics and considerable dimensions, easily correspondable with a roman-time archaeological site, dedicated to agricultural exploitation. There were five building “nucleus”, separated between them, in which several structures were included which would define a transformation complex. The study of the recovered materials asserts that this transformation unit was functional between I and late II-early III centuries. This work is carried out in order to analyze and discuss the nature and characte- ristics of the products elaborated by the transformation complex, apparently wine –activity which is known to have experienced a great development specially in western Tarraconensis province, but nevertheless not really well known in central peninsula– as well as to evaluate its capacity to produce and commercialize the pruction surplus in Comlputum’s framework.
