(IRON METABOLISM IN THE DOG: DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATIONS OF ¡RON STATUS AND REFERENCE VALUES IN THE BEAGLE DOG)
Abstract
This article describes the iron status assessment (serum iron, TIBC, serum ferritin, % TRF, [TRF] and UIBC) in the normal dog. The importance of iron status on differential diagnosis of anemia as well as different methods to calculate iron parameters are commented. Mean values for serum iron, TIBC and serum ferritin were 181.7+-30.3, 314.6+-28.3 ug/ml y 155.7+-70.8 ng/ml respectively.Downloads
