Abstract

Scientific admission of the emotion influence on health is one of the main supports on which Health Psychology is based. The empirical evidence which indicateshealth trastorns afected by emotional processes is increasing day by day. In this paper we pay special attention on how emotional processes, specially anxiety, affect postsurgical recovery. We also describe some effective psychological techniques to reduce anxiety and to facilitate recovery.presurgical anxiety, postsurgical recovery, Health Psychology.
