Abstract

The development in the first third part of XIX Century on two tecnics of engraving -lithography and xylography- caused the originad development of the graphic printing press from 1830. The illustrated magazines on general interest and the satiric ones, had a great success, though many people could not read they could enjoy the illustrations and caricatures which needed less complex interpretative codes than writing. At this work, it in gathered in a shallow way the graphic printing press in the región of Murcia, setting it in the spanish illustrated joumalism scene of XIX Century.
