Abstract

An approach to how the German Evangelical School “El Porvenir”, in Madrid, was together with the Internacional Institute- the first institution of Secondary and Higher Education the renascent Protestant minority in Spain had. This is also a study about the German Minister Friedrich Fliedner‘s acquisition of the site for his school, its partial expropriation by the State in 1881, and the consequent Hispano-German litigation and building of the School between 1892 and 1897.
