Abstract

This article deals with one of the consequences that intercultural education and specifically the Home Language Program for Moroccan immigrants is producing in the Spanish school: the construction of an exclusive difference. Moroccan and Spanish responsible for children's education, produce what at the end are common stereotypes when defining what to be Moroccan means. This construction is elaborated to be taught to the children of Moroccan origin and becomes obvious through a succession of'ethnic obligations' which are expected to be fülfilled by them.
