Abstract

The process leading to autonomy of Castile and Leon has been a good example of all changes and difficulties that the autonomous State created by the constitution of 1978 has suffered. The antecedents of the autonomy of Castile and Leon, like the autonomous State, dates back to the decentralizacion intentions of nineteenth century, although the autonomy of Castile and Leon was created during the Transition. The process leading to autonomy wasn’t easy and had a lot of obstacles. The autonomous region of Castile and Leon was born definitively in 1983 with the approval of his devolution Statute by the royal courts. Although there are still problems of the period of making of the autonomy –territorial issue, lack of regional awakening, etc.–, however Castile and Leon is at the start of twenty first century fully integrated in the autonomous State.
