Abstract

This article aims at continuing a coherent linguistic policy that supports foreign pupils’ integration into Spanish schools, especially of those who are non Spanish-speakers. Such integration can be achieved, on the one hand, by teaching them Spanish as a second language and, on the other hand, by accepting and boosting their mother tongues within an appropriate classroom environment. Furthermore, this paper proposes some plans of action in order to improve the linguistic support of the Maghrebian children at Spanish secondary schools. Something possible via the teaching of Arabic as a second language.
