Abstract

This article is related to the «Repliegue» (Withdrawal), which took place between April 1956 and August 1961. This Operation was conducted by the units of the Spanish Army in the north Zone of the Spanish Protectorate, after the Declaration of Independence of the Kingdom of Morocco. Firstly is made a short resume of the evolution of the so called «Ejército de África» (Africa Army), between the end of the Spanish Civil War and the Independence of Morocco. Later, it is presented the particularities of the «Plan de Repliegue» (Withdrawal Plan), including the Phases and Terms and also the factors that were taken in account for the preparation of the Plan and those that had infl uence on it.
