Abstract

This essay studies the return migration of Spanish guestworkers from the Federal Republic of Germany between 1960 and 1975. After describing the legal and administrative framework of this return migration, the main dimensions and characteristics of it are pointed out. The third part of the essay focuses on the official attitudes in both countries with regard to the rise of return migration connected with the economic crisis in 1966-67 and 1973 onwards.
