Pedagogical innovation in Physical Education: a systematic review of the implementation of mindfulness in Primary Education
Abstract
This study addresses pedagogical innovation in Physical Education by conducting a systematic review of the implementation of mindfulness in Primary Education. The main objective was to analyse how mindfulness practice is being introduced at this school stage. A systematic review of the scientific literature was carried out using the Scopus and WOS databases. The selected articles were examined in order to identify the practical experiences of mindfulness in primary school classes, the geographical areas where it is being implemented, and the benefits obtained through this practice. The results show a certain scarcity of interventions, that the implementation of mindfulness has been carried out mainly in upper primary grades, in the same way, in the area of Spain, and has proven to be effective in improving attention, reducing stress and promoting a positive school environment.
