Abstract

This interview is part of the project Memorias del Anti-imperialismo: La oposición democrática, el exilio militante y la cuestión anti-colonial en el tardo franquismo (1962-1975), which aims to explore the genealogies of the decolonial debate in Spain. In dialogue with Ramón Grosfoguel, we aim to clarify the relationship between the concept of colona interior or colonialimso intero with Latin American decolonial theory and the concept of coloniality. We trace various paths from anti-colonial Marxism, black radical theory, world-system theory to Latin American decolonial theory in order to uncover previously unrecognised contributions. We also analyse the debates on the colonial question within Marxism in the 20th century and the current tension between anti-imperialism and decolonial theory. The conversation aims to provide a new map for thinking decolonial theory from its Marxist, anti-racist and anti-imperialist roots.
