Abstract

This paper aims to shed light on the recovery of exploitation in radical republican or socialist literature on the basis of the authors who have recovered the republican roots of socialism in the last twenty years. To this end, we will analyze John Roemer's critical incorporation of the explanation of exploitation. Once we have established the centrality of the predistribution of property as the cause of exploitation, we try to see what may be one of the weaknesses of current radical republicanism: the social division of labor. In order to enrich republicanism with a deeper perception of the division of labor, we will turn to the proposals of the German author Axel Honneth's The working sovereign.
