Abstract

Within the context of widespread violence in present-day Mexico, the renewal of direct action carried out by so-called anarchist groups has not received the necessary attention. These groups, which took shape during the last decade, have increased their activism since 2011. This paper tries to show what their fundamental grievances are, how they conceive political action, their battle methods, which targets they seek to damage or destroy, what is their relation with other social movements, what international links do they have and what isthe goal they want to achieve by the use of force during street protests.
