Abstract

José Pemartín was one of the renovators of the national-catholicism discourse in the previous years of the Spanish Civil War. He was an active militant of theright wing in Seville and a traditionalist philosopher. In addition to this, he was one of the inspirational founders of Francoist ideology and he played a key role in the first configuration of its educational system. This work will reconstructthe early stages of his life (1888-1936) and it will use a socio-genetic approach in order to analyze the way he developed a set of basic classist regulations thatdetermined the subsequent intellectual activity. It will also be examined the process of accumulation of social and symbolic capital within their social andpolitical course. His academic career was characterized by a militant activity that modulates those regulations and gives sense to his later theoretical production aswell as his political positions during the postwar period. Lastly, it will be tried to demonstrate that Sociology of Philosophy provides valid tools for the history ofpolitical ideas.
