Abstract

With the challenge that the European Convergence on Secondary Education implies and in the framework of a innovative teaching project carried out by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, various steps were taken to ensure that the students had the opportunity to learn along with the improvement in the quality of the teaching in the statistics course. The experience that was gained permitted the professors involved to design a collaboration strategy between them. After a review of the course planning and the admission requirements of the registered students a continuous evaluation system was put in effect for large groups (more than 100 students per professor). Both students and teachers gave positive reviews to the innovative training experience. It has also been observed that there was an increase in the number of students that assisted to classes with respect to previous years along with improved grades.
