Abstract

The manuscript 40 of the Arxiu del Regne de Mallorca contains the second book of Liber Domini Regis Illustrissimi Gestorum Iacobi, a work of the Dominican frier Pere Marsili, in which this author translated into Latin the Llibre dels Fets of James I of Aragon, and recreated this information in XIV century. This text, whose second book is devoted to the conquest of Majorca, was used for centuries for preparing the Sermó de la Conquesta, a sermon celebrated at the Festa de l’Estendard. This manuscript contains seventy-three marginal notes that prove this liturgical use between XVI and XVII centuries. The Catalan translation contained in this medieval manuscript shows the same use.
