Abstract

The arrival of the Genoese traders to the Spanish kingdoms caused a change in the commercial and financial structure, which reached the highest point in the Catholic Kings´ kingdom. The year 1942 meant a change of direction in the Genoese economic activity, because of the Jewish expulsion. Thereafter the Genoese presence in Murcia was essential as they become the most important part of the economy and a new process of integration in the society started. That work explains the trade and social relations of the Genoese in the Ancient Kingdom of Murcia.
