Familia, género y pobreza. El internamiento en una institución de protección a la infancia

Abstract

Under the idea that it is possible to speak about the family from the analysis of the socialrelations that are given to the interior of an institution that seemingly represents this failure,the present papper tries not to analyze only how there is formed the idea of family and the familiar relations, but also what meanings and uses gave to the Hospicio Cabañas those subjects and familiar groups that lived this interior, following the thesis of which as well as for the State the institution meant a space of containment of the poverty and discipline, those women who approached looking for protection for their child saw the internment as a strategy of familiar survival.
