Abstract

This paper is about the experience of the participation of women in poor neighbourhoods in urban popular movement in Mexico. lt derives from the supposition that they can achieve some kind of lear­ning when participating in social movements; these may become tools for transformer their subordination condition and could represent a pos­sibility for acknowledgement and for valuing their individuality, their free­ dom, their dignity, their activities and opinions that could become a possi­ble factor for change their gender practices and discourse in a mea­ningful way.
