Abstract

This article aims to characterize the Movement and Corporation Mothers of Candelaria – Founding Line, an organization formed by mothers whose loved ones have been kidnapped or disappeared by different armed groups under the social and political conflict in Colombia. It is also proposed to locate it in the tradition of women's mobilization in Latin American and respond in what sense this is a feminist movement. The information was obtained following the technique known as participant observation and was made with 11 mothers a round of 2 interviews and with 9 of them a discussion group. With the fragments of the testimonials included in the article the intention is to illustrate with the voices of the protagonists their personal transformations and organizational evolution of this group of women that has made of motherhood her political flag.
