EVOLUTION AND INEQUALITIES OF ADOLESCENT FERTILITY IN NORTHEASTERN ARGENTINA BETWEEN 2000 AND 2020

Abstract
The purpose of this article is to analyze the evolution of adolescent fertility in the period 2000 to 2020 in the provinces of Northeast Argentina and examine the social inequalities of adolescent fertility within them.
To analyze social inequalities in health, the standard methodology proposed by WHO/PAHO is adopted, through which the distribution of a health indicator is analyzed on the scale of relative social position defined by a socioeconomic indicator (called equity stratifier) and said distributional inequality is summarized through inequality metrics.
On this occasion, the specific early and late adolescent fertility rates are used as health indicators, and the percentage of the population with unmet basic needs (UBN) as an equity stratifier.
The results will provide information for making more strategic and efficient reproductive health decisions in its noble purpose of reducing adolescent pregnancy and reducing social inequalities among the populations and territories of the region, prioritizing transformative action based on the response intersectoral.
