USO RECREATIVO EN LOS ESPACIOS NATURALES DE MALLORCA: EL ÁREA NATURAL DE ESPECIAL INTERÉS (ANEI) DE ES CARNATGE D’ES COLL DEN RABASSA
Abstract
Nowadays, it is indisputable that several recreational activities can cause severe degradation in natural areas. These impacts can be direct, numerous and very representative, while answers of the natural environment to the recreational pressures are enormously complex. According to this formulation, a study on an area regarded as critical, subjected to intensive recreational use, has been performed: the Natural Area of Special Interest of Es Carnatge d’Es Coll den Rabassa, in Palma de Mallorca. By means of the frequentation analysis and the application of an impact index, the use of the area as a leisure zone by the capital citizens has been confirmed, as well as its negative effects and the lack of any kind of environment management. The close action of these factors constitutes a serious threat for the natural environment of the area and other natural areas in the Balearic archipelago.Downloads
