LA HUERTA DE MURCIA COMO EJEMPLO DE ESCORRENTÍA DERIVADA INSCRITA EN LLANURA DE CRECIDA
Abstract
In this study a references is made to the difficulties than man has had to settle down in «flood plains», as well as problems derived from the increasing risk of floods caused by the progressive elevation of the river waterbed. A reference is also made to the efforts carried out by riverside populations in order to keep some stretches of the river course stable, which brings about enclaves with activities which are in contrast with their original farming environment. The proposed concomitance example reveals the traditional importance not only of deviating dams together with their channel network as originators of the «huerta», but also of the canalisation of the river stretch which gave rise to the city of Murcia.Downloads
