LOS INCENDIOS FORESTALES EN LA VERTIENTE PENINSULAR MEDITERRÁNEAY REGIÓN DE MURCIA
Abstract
Spanish Mediterranean coast is one of the Iberian Peninsular zones more damage by forest fire problems. From 1989 to 1999 the fire burned 618.000 hectares which about 60 per cent were wooded. There are singular events such as the year 1994 in Murcia where burned more than 25.000 hectares or in July 1998, which damaged 17.979 hectares of forest area in Cataluña. An approximation to recent evolution of forest fire in this areas can be able to arouse about the problem and to take preventive measures in order to mitigate the important consequences of this events.Downloads
